Is this voice AI clinic system a product I can buy off the shelf?
No. This clinic voice AI isn't a product we sell. Entexis is a custom SaaS, software, and AI development company. We build tailored voice AI solutions for each client: end-to-end, on your stack, with your data. Why a clinic? Is "Dr. Tom Hanks" real?
The clinic isn't real. "Dr. Tom Hanks Family Clinic" is a fictional practice we built to demonstrate the full voice AI stack end to end. We picked healthcare booking because it's rich enough to show every piece (voice receptionist, live calendar, dashboard, branding, guardrails) without fluff. The same voice AI works for dental and veterinary clinics, salons, legal consultations, real-estate offices, home services, automotive service centres. Any business where customers call to book, reschedule, or ask.
Can Entexis build a custom voice AI for my business?
Yes. That's our entire offering. How long does it take to deploy for a real clinic?
Typically two to four weeks, including custom branding, persona tuning to match the clinic's tone, calendar import, and electronic medical records integration if needed.
Can it integrate with our calendar or electronic medical records system?
Calendars (Google Calendar, Outlook): straightforward. Both have public APIs and we can wire them in during the build.

Electronic medical records (Athenahealth, Epic, Cerner and similar): technically possible via FHIR or HL7, but each vendor has its own partner-approval process that takes time and adds cost. We treat that as a separate phase after the core agent is live, scoped against what your practice actually needs.
What languages can the voice AI handle?
The caller picks. When you enable multiple languages on a persona, the voice AI greets the caller and offers them a choice ("Would you like to continue in English or Hindi?"). Once they pick, the AI greets, books, and follows up in that language, automatically switching tone, idiom, and accent. Out-of-the-box support: English (US/UK/India), Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Mandarin, Portuguese, and more. Add or remove languages per agent from the admin. No code changes, no redeploy.
Can callers switch languages mid-conversation?
Yes. If a caller starts in English and shifts to Hindi (or any enabled language) part-way through, the voice AI follows naturally. It picks up on the shift and continues in the new language for the rest of the call. No need for the caller to announce the change.
Can we add or remove languages after the AI is live?
Yes. Fully admin-controllable. Languages are configured per voice agent from the admin panel. Tick a language to enable it; untick to remove. The change takes effect on the very next call. No deploy, no code change, no engineering ticket. You can also customize the greeting line for each language separately so the agent introduces itself in a way that fits each audience.
What about HIPAA and patient privacy?
For real clinic deployments the agent runs on HIPAA-compliant cloud infrastructure, with a signed Business Associate Agreement from our AI partner. Calls are encrypted in transit, transcripts live on your infrastructure only, and we strip out protected health information from any operational logs. This page is a labs demo with mock data. It is not HIPAA-compliant and should not be used with real patient information.
How does it handle cancellations and reschedules?
Both, end to end. A patient can call and say "I need to cancel my appointment". The agent looks them up by phone, confirms, and releases the slot. Reschedules work the same way: cancel and offer new slots in the same call. Maya does this in this very demo. Try it.
Can the agent be tuned to speak in our practice's voice?
Yes. We tune the personality (warm vs efficient, formal vs conversational), the opening line, the pace, and how it handles small talk or off-script questions. We can clone a specific voice if your team has a favorite, though most clinics do well with our default voices: a warm female (Nova) or a confident male (Onyx).
Can this be used for medical emergencies?
No. This is an appointment-booking agent only. It does not handle emergencies, give medical advice, or replace 911 / your local emergency number. For anything time-critical, always call your local emergency number, not this line.
